Our athlete of the week is Lane Jacobs! Lane has been training with Endorphin Fitness since the fall of 2017, and we’re so happy she’s a part of our team! Her great attitude and determination to improve has made her a joy to work with!
Running is Lane’s sport, and her desire to improve her running is what made her want to train with us. She’s been swimming and running with her family as long as she can remember. She loved it so much that she couldn’t wait until it was her turn to race!
Since starting to train with us, Lane has dropped almost two minutes off her mile PR, and now wants to push that time even lower. She says that Coach Sally makes running fun for her and encourages her to do her best at whatever she does in life. Lane says that EF has helped her be more confident.
Even though she’s young, Lane has an impressive list of races she’s finished, including several one mile races, lots of kids races, and two 5ks. Her favorite race, though, is the Short Pump Mile. She’s also participating in her first Splash and Dash race, hosted by the Live Red Foundation, and is excited for that! Her goal this season is to break 7 minutes in her mile PR, and we’re so excited to help her achieve this goal!
Lane says you should try your best and work hard at practice. She also says that it’s okay to get nervous on race day, but once the race starts you’ll relax and have fun.
