We had a packed weekend of racing this weekend! We have results from several triathlons, including the Pleasant Prairie Youth / Junior Elite race, Rock Hall, Escape the Cape, and more! We also have some bike races and rides, including Bike MS, the Armed Forces Cycling Challenge, and Bryan Park Training Races. Let’s get started!
Endorphin Fitness Juniors had a small but strong field at the Pleasant Prairie Youth/Junior Elite Cup. In the Youth Elite Female category, Lucy Nunziata took 28th, Annalise Williams 29th, Carsen Johnston 35th, Caroline Osenga 40th, and Kory Johnston 52nd. Tate Frost was our only competitor in the Youth Elite Male category and took 45th. In the Junior Elite Female category, Hope Frost took 7th, Alexandra Poole 10th, Emme Cate Heilbrun 31st, and Peyton Johnston 60th. Alex Tan was our only competitor in the Junior Elite Male category and he took 31st.
At the 3A State Champs, Cooper Albright took 4th in 400, 2nd in the 800 (breaking a 27 yr old school record), and anchored the 4×400 relay to a 2nd place finish. Impressive!!
At the 5A state championships, Colby Burcham and Jake Schindel led the 4X800 relay to a state title! Jake coming in blistering to a photo finish! Colby followed up with a 2nd overall finish in the 1600, along with Jake 6th overall in the 800.
Katie Elliott had an impressive race at Victoria 70.3 to qualify for 70.3 Worlds!
Jake Dysart and Presley Evans had strong races at the Bryan Park Crit last week. Jake took 2nd and held onto his leader’s jersey.
At the inaugural Water Country Youth Triathlon, EF youth dominated. In the 13-14 age group, Caleb Harlow took the win. In the 11-12 race, Andrea Rogerson took 1st, Annika Rogerson 2nd, and Hadley Harlow took 3rd on the girls side and Cannen Harlow won the boys race. In the 9-10 race, Ellie Harlow took the win on the girls side. In the 7-8 race, Avery Diette took the win followed by Tommy White in 5th and Jaxon Johnson in 11th on the boys side. Weston White won the 5-6 boys race.
At the Rock Hall Relay and Sprint, Rachel Wood laid down a fast bike split landing her relay team 2nd overall. She followed up with a great performance in the sprint on Sunday! Emily Kontos was part of a relay team, completing the bike leg. Her team won by 20 minutes! Christian Locke had a strong race at the sprint as well, winning his age group!
Jax Bethel completed the Armed Forces Cycling Challenge.
Pam Kemper, Lenora Mariner, Elaine Rondina, Morgan Sears, Austin McDaniel all participated in the Bike MS 150!
At the Reston Sprint Tri, Coach Mike Crossin had a good race despite a lack of training. Michael McDuffie completed his first ever Triathlon after just learning to swim this year. Even though he was last out of the swim, he pushed hard on the bike and run, gaining back many places and finishing far from last.
At the Escape the Cape Tri, Susan Alexander got 3rd AG and Nancy Faux got 2nd AG! Well done ladies!
At the Skirt Sports 10k, Sarah Look had a strong race at altitude!
