Big week of racing for Endorphin Fitness athletes! We have Smithfield, one of our early season team races, as well as the first VAHS MTB race series results. We also have the Collegiate National races, several running races and more! Check out the results below.
Hope Frost qualified for Nationals in the 2k Steeplechase after taking a win this weekend with a 7:13!
At VAHS Mtb Race 1, Jake Dysart and Rex Nguyen went 16th and 32nd in the varsity high school race. In the middle school race, Presley Evans and Jude Gillespie went 8th and 19th on the boys side and Maddie Fisher got 4th on the girls side. In the elementary school race, Whitfield Evans took 32nd and Zach Fisher 38th.
At the Smithfield Triathlon, we had a ton of athletes racing. Adults, youth, and juniors all took AG and overall podium spots- congrats to all who raced hard! Christian Locke had a very well executed race for his season opener. Scott Dixon had an awesome improved swim performance at Smithfield! Cort Kirkley won his age group by a striking 8 minutes! Sandrine Thominet, Katie Skiff and Matt Cramer all won their age groups in this event as well!
From our youth and junior athletes at Smithfield, Sam Kayne took 3rd overall women’s, and Jacob Crouch took 2nd overall men’s with very strong races from both! Luke Craven, Caroline Osenga, Emme Cate Heilbrun, and Alex Tan all took 1st in their respective age groups. Ella Forlin, Isaac Lamprecht, and Caleb Harlow all snagged podium positions in their age groups as well. Matthew Estes and Stephen Tan both took 4th in their AGs, and Alessandro Bovo took 6th in his.
Katie Elliott won the Tour of New Zealand leading start to finish. Her winnings included a new car which she decided to donate to the charity TearFund.
This was week 2 results for the Healthy Kids Run Series. In the 50 yd race, Braxton Harlow took 2nd. In the 75 yd race, Colby Harlow placed 8th. In the K-1st boys race, Robert Hotchfelder placed 10th. In the K-1st girls race, Tessa Milici placed 8th. In the 2nd-3rd grade race, Cooper Milici placed 10th in the boy’s race. In the 4th-5th grade girl’s mile race, Hadley Harlow placed 1st and Ariana Hotchfelder 6th. In the middle school race, Maddie McComb took the win! Check out pictures from the event!
At the Dismal Swamp 5k, Sarah Look grabbed a PR, as well as 3rd in her age group within a very tough field!
Emily Kontos competed in Collegiate Nationals in Tempe, Arizona with a strong race, earning a PR in both her swim and run legs of an International distance triathlon!
Holden Valerie set another PR running a 5:14 mile!
