Big weekend of racing for EF athletes at the RTC Sprint Triathlon, White Lake Triathlons, Ironman Texas, HS National Champs, Collegiate National Champs, Rev 3 Adventure Race, VAHS MTB Series, and several local cycling and running events.
At the RTC Sprint Triathlon, Endorphin Fitness athletes were all over the podium. Jim Fisher took 3rd overall on the men’s side. Abby Church took the overall win on the women’s side followed by Paige Lind in 3rd, Kaitlyn Yasnowsky in 4th, and Coach Kate Fisher in 5th (1st masters overall). Several athletes placed in their age groups. Kaitlyn Yasnowsky, Ben Poling, and Charlene Wilhelm all won their age groups. Allyson Wittfield, Scott Evans (2:00 PR), Sarah Ruotolo, Maya Sweeney, and Alex Tan took 2nd in theirs. Walt Walter, Marisa Ruotolo, Stephen Tan, and Jake Phillips took 3rd. Erika Jurkowski (11 min PR!), Maggie Geoghagen, Julie Julian (after crashing and running her bike in), Allan Ng, and Anderson Church took 4th, and Alex Lienert took 5th in his age group in his 1st triathlon. Strong races also from Eric Glympth, John McMurry, Myles Baker, Kathy Scourby, Katie Letchworth, Dawn Carter (5 min PR), Monica Woodward (1:55 PR), Lori Green (:24″ PR), Wyatt Haas, and Mary Jane Willis. Additionally, we want to recognize our first-time triathletes who completed the RTC Sprint – Charlotte McDannald, Camilla Hill, Kimberly Mays, Eileen Geller, Emily Rick, Don Sellazo, Dexter Wade, Robbie Darling, John Strader, Jessica Voss, and Alex Lienart. We also had a strong contingent of athletes at White Lake. In the Sprint, Parker Albright blew away the field to finish 1st overall female and 3rd overall male and female!! In the Olympic, Tina Shiver, Rich Taylor, and Matt Myers all performed very strong. Tina Shiver came away with 2nd in her age group. In the Half, Chad Albright set a new personal best, finishing in 4:28 to take third overall, and Stephanie Bryant set a 20-minute personal best. Jack Martin had a 5 min PR to break 3 hours. Matt Meyers also broke 3 hours with a new PR.
Tim Brown, Chris Taylor, and Greg Mathe all had strong raced at Ironman Texas with Tim and Greg setting new PRs at Ironman Texas, putting together a solid race and finishing in 10:25. This was Chris’ first ironman!
At the High School National Champs, Carson Everman had a personal best race to finish 25th.
Cory Fines and Matt Schiller both raced the USAT Collegiate National Championships this weekend and had fantastic results!
Gena Casagrande had a strong performance at her local neighborhood 5k on Saturday.
Hannah Lupica, Emily Whitty, Colby Burcham, Lauryn Nilson, Kylie Bonser, Caroline Osenga, and Lucy Poh all took very high finishes at their track meets this week. Caroline set a 1 min PR in the mile!
A few youth-adult combinations raced the Rev 3 Adventure Race this weekend with Hazel and Spencer Wells winning followed by Ian and Joe Henderson in 2nd in the 2-person race. Nick, Demi, and John Stratiou had a strong race as well in the 3-person race.
Kieran and Ryan Haug completed a 40 mile dirt road ride in Connecticut.
Nick Pilgrim raced a 3-day stage race in Bermuda finishing strong at the top of the field each day.
Coleson Lindsey and Presley Evans raced the 2nd VAHS MTB Series race taking 1st and 2nd in their respective races.
