Athlete Spotlight: Nora Rossi

Athlete Spotlight: Nora Rossi
December 5, 2019 Michael Harlow

Nora Rossi joined the youth team after her mom, Jo Ann, found so much success with our adult program.  With a background in gymnastics, dance, and ice skating, endurance sports seemed scary to her at first.  Now, she is loving training and knocking down barriers daily. Read her story in her own words below…

Tell us about your journey to endurance sports.  How did you get started?

I have never actually done endurance sports. In the past I have done gymnastics, dance and even ice skating but endurance sports always seemed kind of scary.

When was your first race?  Tell us about it.

I haven’t raced a triathlon yet, but I am looking for some races to do in the spring.  I did recently complete a 5k and exceeded my expectations.

What is your greatest accomplishment in the sport?

Even though I am relatively new to the sport my biggest accomplishment would probably have to be the recent Donut Run because it was my first 5k where I ran for a goal time.

What is your biggest goal right now?

My biggest goal right now is to do a triathlon.

What motivates you?

A big motivation for me is just to get better in general. I think of myself as a pretty competitive person and I like challenging myself to keep improving so I can be the best that I can be.

Outside of training and racing, what are other important things in your life?

At my school I am a member of Select Chorus and in the school play. Other activities of mine are dance, T.R.A.I.N (an acting program), and the youth group at my church.

How has training and racing impacted the rest of your life?

Training with Endorphin has improved my dance because my endurance has gotten a lot better.

Why did you choose to train with Endorphin Fitness?

I chose to train at endorphin because my mom is on the adult team and in the past year had started to do triathlons and was always talking about practices and her friends at Endorphin.

What do you love most about training with Endorphin Fitness?

I like training with Endorphin because the group does feel like a family because they are always supporting each other, and Michael always pushes you to do your best and actually cares about your progress.

Anything you would like to add?

Even though I have only been with Endorphin for a short period of time I have really enjoyed it and I look forward to continuing to train and improve.
