Our Athlete of the Week is Isabella Larkin!
Isabella began her fitness journey as a swimmer. She later decided to take on triathlon to try something new, but also improve her bike and run skills. Isabella was originally on the Dominion Cycling & Triathlon Team. About 4 years ago, Isabella became part of Endorphin Fitness Price William.
When it comes to triathlon, Isabella has done both youth and adult sprint distances. Her favorite distance is the adult sprint because the 5k gives her an extra challenge. Isabella loves triathlon because of the community of athletes that surround her. Everyone is always so welcoming and supportive.
A successful high school swim season has officially ended for Isabella. Isabella’s focus is now fully on her triathlon training. This season, Isabella strives to place top 3 in all her races, as well as continue to drop time.
Isabella’s favorite race experience was last year at the 2017 Youth Nationals Race. She placed 8th in her age group. 2 years ago, Isabella had her least favorite race experience by getting a flat tire in the middle of the race.
Endorphin Fitness has taught Isabella to Be More in her day-to-day life. Isabella feels Endorphin Fitness has taught her to be more goal oriented, not only in sports but in her academics as well.
When we asked Isabella if she had any advice to beginners, she said, “My advice to beginners is to set small achievable goals. Setbacks will happen, but keep your eye on the prize. It will all be worth it in the long run.”
