Can you imagine if there was a TV commercial for the drug endorphin? Slow uplifting music playing in the background while two people lay exhausted on a track enjoying the euphoric feeling of endorphins. Then images are shown of these same people going about their day, having success in many areas and being just a tad more upbeat than those around them. And no scary side effects at the end. It is an accurate picture that more need to experience, daily.
I thought of several topics for today’s message but all seemed trivial to simply saying Merry Christmas. During the busyness of the season, all of us at Endorphin Fitness hope that you take a moment – either during a workout, with family, or in just he stillness of a morning – and reflect on the year.
It was a strong weekend of racing for athletes all over the country. Some traveled to Virginia Beach, some to Arizona, and some to Florida! Keep reading to see where else our athletes went. Coach Erin Horil and EF marketing guru Isabelle Cabral raced the Surfin’ Santa 5 Miler, where the world record for most santa suits in a race is broken every year. Erin was the first overall woman wearing a santa suit across the line and Isabelle finished with a PR! The Albright Family raced a 5k in Phoenix while away on Christmas vacation. Cooper finished 2nd overall, Chad 4th overall, and Parker first female. Monica Woodward ran a very strong Jacksonville half marathon coming within less than a minute of her PR. At the CNU invitational, Chase Brooksbank ran a PR in the 1000. Colby Burcham grabbed a 3200m PR, already grabbing a state-qualifying standard. Connor Doyle ran a very strong 3200m coming in at 9:57!
