After a long winter of hard work and rapid improvement, Parker Albright opened the race season with a bang last weekend at the Clermont Draft Legal Challenge taking a big come-from-behind-win. After a strong swim and bike, Parker began the 1.55 mile run trailing the leaders by 25 seconds. Unfortunately, Parker was also going to have to serve a 10 second penalty in the penalty box on the run course making her effectively 35 seconds down from the leaders. Staying calm and determined, Parker immediately launched a full assault and caught the leaders by the .75 mile turn-around and then tried to get as much distance on them before the penalty box. With 200 meters to go to the finish, Parker stepped into the penalty box with 3 athletes fast approaching and was released one second before they caught her to out-sprint them to the finish line. What a performance and what an athlete!! Parker, we are proud of your great attitude and grace under fire!
